Childhood Immunisation Update
The Childhood Immunisation schedule was updated in July 2025. Some of these changes have already been implemented and some are due to start from January 2026 as detailed below.
In the previous schedule, the first measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination was given at 12 months, and a second dose at 3 years 4 months (pre-school).
From January 2026, the second dose of MMR vaccine will move to a new appointment at 18 months. This will provide earlier protection for children. The Practice will continue to call children for scheduled vaccination appointments when they are due.

Braniel Surgery Closure
The Practice has taken the decision to close our Braniel branch surgery due to pressures on the Health service. This permanent closure has now been approved by the Department of Health. All our patients will continue to receive a full range of services from Cherryvalley Health Centre. As a Practice we wish to thank our patients for the support of the Braniel branch surgery over the years.
