Dr Moncrieff's retirement

It is with mixed emotions that Cherryvalley Group Practice is announcing Dr Lyn Moncrieff’s retirement after 29 years serving the local community.

In 1996 she joined Drs Hoey, Graham, Morrison, Raphael and Walker in the then still fairly new Cherryvalley Health Centre in Kings Square.

From the start she has been at the helm of our practice, driving it forward, armed with local knowledge, innovation, enthusiasm and a good listening ear.

During this time Dr Moncrieff has seen significant changes within our health service with the introduction of so many new and more effective treatments for our patients alongside moving from our old paper records to fully computerised practice.

Dr Moncrieff had a particular interest in developing Women’s Healthcare, in particular Contraception and HRT. She was also passionate about her Baby Clinic and ensuring all the young children in the local community were fully vaccinated and protected against serious illnesses.

She has always been a conscientious, excellent clinician who fights tirelessly for good care and service for her patients. She has also been actively involved in our training of medical students and young doctors, preparing them for their future careers ahead.

Following the difficult “Covid Years” Dr Moncrieff leaves Cherryvalley Group Practice in as healthy a state as could be hoped for as our practice navigates the stormy waters of our current NHS and we try to maintain high standards of care to our local community.

We would like to thank our polite, loyal, hardworking, fair and diplomatic colleague who has been constant and steadfast during all these years and who has been a stabilising force, guiding our practice through many challenges to be the success it is today.

We would particularly like to thank her on behalf of all our patients for the care and attention she has given them during her career.
